Christmas symbols

This is my Christmas eve post, so it had to be special. I'll post one tomorrow about everything I got. There are people who are trying to take Christ out of Christmas, but I know that that can never happen. If we have ears to hear and eyes to see, we can always find him. Here are some of the things we see around Christmas. Those who do not have ears to hear and eyes to see may think there is nothing at all related to Christ in any of them. But I know different.
The wreath: Symbolizes eternal love, no beginning, no end. Love comes full circle.
Candles: Symbolize the light of Christ, our own inner light. There is one in all of us, if we only remember it's there, we can use it to light the world.
Gifts: Giving, sharing, thinking of others.
Bow: Tied in the bonds of brotherly love.
Tree: The evergreen of everlasting life, pointing heavenward.
Bell:Rings to bring lost sheep home.
Candy cane:Shepherds crook for bringing lambs back to the fold. Christ is the good Shepherd who wants to bring us all back.
Red: The Saviors sacrifice for all of us is symbolized by this color.
Star: The star of Bethlehem, sign of prophesy. Wise men followed the star to get to Christ, He is the star that shines for us now. If we follow Him, we will find our home with Him and with God.
Santa Claus: The spirit of Christmas, giving and receiving love, caring, sharing, kindness, cheerfulness, happiness, peace, good will to all, Christ like living.
One of the most common ways the Lord speaks to us is with symbols. There are many symbols throughout the scriptures, and Jesus himself often taught in parables. Why? The special thing about symbols is, if you are ready to know what can be learned from them, they will tell it to you. But if you are not, then they will hide from you until you are. There are many symbols around us today, if we look for them.
One more thing. Christ will never be taken out of Christmas. He can never hidden from those who wish to find him. Men may try, and think they have seceded, but Christ is the reason for Christmas, and will never be lost from it. That is why we call it CHRISTmas. Some have tryed to take him out of that as well, by replacing Christ with an X- Xmas. But to those who have eyes to see, he still there. What do you think of when you see a cross? The Savior . What do you get when you turn an X on its side? A cross! So you see, He is still there! You just have to look.

I'd never thought of the 'x' turning on it's side to make a cross. That's cool! Another thing about that that I'd heard- the first letter of "Christ" in Greek (which most of the New Testament was written in)is 'X'.
