I think this is a great quote, and I wanted to share it.

"We do not have to defend the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ will defend him for us. Those who reject Joseph Smith as a prophet and revelator are left to find some other explanation for the Book of Mormon.

"And for the second powerful defense: the Doctrine and Covenants, and a third: the Pearl of Great Price.Published in combination, these scriptures form an unshakable testament that Jesus is the Christ and a witness that Joseph Smith is a prophet."
(Boyd K. Packer, "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ," Ensign, May 2005, 9 )

Isn't that wonderful!? I've never thought about it that way. Truth is always truth, and though we should always stand for what is right, we don't need to defend it. It defends itself!

Hi Tiff, I've missed your blog lately. But I am back to my self now and am catching up.

I like that quote. It is right, we don't have to defend it. But we can tell people of our testimony of it if they need to know. At least our family and our friends. And then they can get a testimony of it for themselves. But your right. We can't really defend it. That is for the Holy Ghost to do.

What about the Bible? I thought you believe that too, but it was left out?

Yes, we believe in the Bible too. But we are the only ones who believe in the Book of Mormon, and as you can imagine, we get confronted about our beliefs on that far more than we do about the Bible. There are many many people from many different churches who believe the Bible. We don't need to tell them It's true, they already know it.

This quote is talking more about our belief in Joseph Smith as a prophet.

Oh... Yeah, you're right, I kinda forgot that's what it was about when I wrote that *blushes*... the Bible doesn't defend Joseph Smith - or even many of his teachings.
