February song

I bet you all think I forgot about my new tradition of posting a favorite "churchy" song every month. But I didn't! Aren't you glad? OK, this month's song is written by Janice Kapp Perry. It's got a pretty tune, but of course I can't share that part with you. You can look her up on 'project playlist' and find it. I know because I looked it up but didn't put it on my play list because the only version they have is a choir type of version and I didn't want that. Anyway, here are the lyrics.

I Walk by Faith

Words and Music by Janice Kapp Perry~

I will prepare to make and keep sacred covenants,
Seek promised blessings of the priesthood thru obedience,
Live my life to claim the blessing sweet of exaltation,
My testimony growing each new day.

I walk by faith, a daughter of heav’nly parents.
Divine am I in nature by inheritance.
The Spirit whispers of my mission, my individual worth,
So I seek for precious knowledge, for learning, and for growth.

I understand the meaning of accountability;
Ev’ry choice for good or ill is my responsibility.
I want to build the kingdom and good works is the key.
By doing what I know is right I show integrity.

I walk by faith, a daughter of heav’nly parents.
Divine am I in nature by inheritance.
And someday when God has proven me I'll see Him face to face.
But just for here and now I walk by faith.
Yes, just for here and now I walk by faith.

This was our song for Young Women's camp last year, and we all came to love it. It's a wonderful blessing to know that i am a daughter of God, I can't imagine living without that knowledge. But It also places the responsibility to act in a way that is pleasing to Him. We bring glory to God in the way we act. And as members of His church we need to remember that we represent Him to the world.
I also believe that He loves us as we are, and excepts us for that. But He wants us to be the best we can.

I have a YW leader who presented an idea to us that I had never thought about before. Heavenly Father created the three kingdoms because He wants us all to live were we are comfortable and have our idea of happy. Not to limit those who don't meet His standard. We can limit ourselves, but that is certainly not what He seeks to do in any way.
Some people really would prefer Telestial glory. And that's OK with Him, although He would rather have us with Him. The Tellestial kingdom we are promised is already much better than anything we know on the earth. Like the earth almost, but without sin. Only neither He, nor Christ will be there. Only the Holy Ghost.
The Terrestrial is better, and there you can have the presence of Christ, and the holy Ghost.
THe Celestial is more wonderful than anything we can imagine, and both Jesus and the Father dwell there, along with the Holy Ghost, (have you ever wondered what his name is? He must have one. Just a side thought.) The highest degree of the Celestial means endless growth and progress and the ability to become like God, with eternal and ever growing families.

There are people who would be more comfortable with one of the lesser kingdoms, or who just don't want to work for something better. And that's OK, it's the choice they make with their agency, one of our greatest gifts from Father.
But I choose a Celestial glory of the highest. And with God's help I know I can get there. I just have to 'Walk by Faith!'

Hi Sweetheart! I read your post! I like to read your blog. It's very you. And you are one of the best friends I've ever had and I love you so! Love, your mommy

Maybe you and Megan could sing that one at the care center Thursday.

PS this is mom even though I forgot to log into my own account.

That is a very beautiful post. I love to read your posts too. I also love how you've given us a very easy to understand idea of what the 3 degrees of glory are like. I too want to go to the Celestial. Although they all sound very nice. I just know that I will want to be with my Heavenly Father (and Mother too). I know how much I would miss my family that I have here on earth if I couldn't live with them in heaven. And although I don't remember being with my Father in Heaven, I'm sure I will desire to be with him even more than that! And I can't imagine my life in Heaven without my earthly family.

I know reaching for the Celestial Kingdom is a lofty goal, and seems to hard to get to. Sometimes it may feel like it is impossible to do. But I also know if I do the BEST that I can do,(and Jesus will know my best), My Savior will help me the rest of the way. I forget where I heard that from, but to me it is comforting.

Yes! I have a new era poster (aka Mormon add) that has a painting of the widow's mite, and says "Love God with All Your Might
It may be small, but if it’s your all, it’s enough.
(See Mark 12:41–44.)"

Jesus' Sacrifice is enough.

Hi Tiff! Beautiful thoughts and insights from a beautiful young lady! I want to reach the Celestial kingdom and be with all my family but, if I think about it too much, it seems like such an impossibility. But I always have to give myself a pep talk and tell myself that if I will just keep trudging on and not give up on myself, I may have hope. It's when you give up and stop trying to do your best when you lose sight of the eternal goal. You have a wonderful attitude and are doing such a great job of applying what you learn and feel to your daily life. Don't ever give up on yourself and you'll win your eternal goal (and it's so worth it!)! Thanks for being such a good example to your family, including this semi-old grandma. Love ya, Grandma Terry
