Easter 2012

I am a little late I know. And it was a bit dark and I haven't quite figured out my night setting so the pictures aren't all that fabulous. I have always loved Easter, and everything that it celebrates. The freshness of Spring is perfect for celebrating the resurrection of our Savior. I also have always loved decorating Easter eggs, and we made sure to do it even though I didn't know what I was going to do with them afterwards. We didn't get to go Easter camping so I am glad we did something. And I was surprised at how much Jordon got into it. I think his definitely turned out better than mine.
I will beat him next year!

I use old fashioned food coloring, vinegar, and crayons.

My lightning egg. The crayon was melting on this one.

All of them together.

Jordon dropped food coloring directly onto this one.

Jordon's face egg.

My frog egg.

My yellow egg.

Jordon's Starcraft 2 egg. Haha :P

New Earrings. (Shhh don't tell!)

Happy Friday everyone! So I discovered a new jewelry website. Which may be a bad thing because it is going to tempt me to spend money that I don't have. But I will be strong and not do so! Except for yesterday. . . . Because when you sign up they give you a coupon for $10 off that expires in three days! If I had realized that I would have waited to sign up until later. But yesterday was my third day, and I have been really craving some new jewelry, and I decided it could be a late birthday present to myself.
Aren't they amazingly funky? I had also been looking at these pretty ones below. The orange beads look yummy! But they are saved in my favorites for later.

Oh yeah so the website is http://baublebar.com. And if you want to sign up please use this code when you do: 36845 And it isn't like the annoying sight I discovered before where you have to remember to go skip every month or get charged. You just shop like a normal website. And every week they have a "hidden" piece of jewelry on sale for $10. Oh and they always tell you what materials everything is made from, which I like. And shipping is free, which I also like. :D Plus they have a huge price range instead of a set price for everything.

So they are my new online jewelry addiction after Etsy.

Apartment Introduction

Hello. :) So Jordon is moving into our apartment before me. :P Yep. How lame is that? Tell me everyone, who wouldn't be jealous? Because yes I am very jealous. However, I did have fun helping Jordon, our friend Shane, and cousin Dallon move everything in.

We were worried about the couch not fitting up the stairs. But it did? Barely.  What we didn't anticipate was that the mattress box spring wouldn't fit. Take a look at the second photo. That's the boys getting the couch up. Looks tight right? Well that was nothing compared to how hard it was to get the bed up there. Thankfully they did it.  But I went in the other room to put furniture together because it was painful to watch.

When we were done we all sat on the new couch and watched a movie while eating skittles and drinking pop. (: Good day.

Out cute little living room.

Stupid tiny steep staircase.

Yes, that is the bathroom next to the kitchen sink.

Bedroom dresser without the knobs.

I didn't take pictures of the finished bedroom or the entire apartment. Temporarily finished anyways. Until I get there. :) But that gives you a little idea of my sweet home-to-be.

Oh and I signed my name with my almost-new name for the first time. We were getting our power turned on and they told me to use it even though we aren't married yet. It felt weird. I hesitated for a minute. But every time I sign my maiden name now it feels weird too because I always think "I'll just have to change it soon." Like when your birthday is in a few days and you just want to say, "I'm 20" because you are really closer to that than 19. It kind of feels like neither name really belongs to me right now. Happily that will change very soon!

Picture Preview.

Hullo everyone! I had Thanksgiving this year with Jordon's family. His dad's side. Which was good because I don't know them as well as his mother's side. It was different having a holiday dinner with people who aren't my family. They aren't yet anyways!
The next day we went Black Friday shopping for some furniture. We got a cool little pillow-top couch that feels like marshmallows. :D And a sweet mattress.

After that we went out and did engagement photos! Jordon's mom took them. :) It was unfortunately cold and windy, and Jordon definitely didn't see the need to take as many as we did. But he took instruction well. At the beginning when I asked him for his opinion he said he was there to take orders not give them.
At the end when we were posing up on some rocks he slipped and hurt his arm. He took a moment to get over the pain and then hopped back up. But we didn't go on for much longer after that. I felt really bad for him!

Anyways, here is a little preview of the pictures. I am saving the really good ones for sending with the invites. :) But I think these ones are fun.

Funny one on the slide at the park.

Me goofing off with messy wind-blown hair.

On a bridge.

And we'll end with a black and white kissing shot.

Look at that! I managed to only post a few pictures for once! :) I really really love them all. I am working on editing them all.

And for those of you who don't know I did find a dress. And it's amazing. :D No pictures though because Jordon can't see until I am actually wearing it.

Engaged!

Hello everyone. :) For those of you who don't already know I have a special announcement to make. . . I am getting married! Yeah I know, it feels a little unreal to me. :) But I am so excited!

I want everyone to understand that Jordon is very worthy and willing to serve the Lord, but he has run into complications and will not be serving a full time mission. He is an amazing person though, and will find ways of serving God and sharing the gospel wherever he is. He loves God and loves the gospel and loves to share that with others.

So far the date we are thinking of is February 10th. That's a little bit soon, but it seems like a good day for us. Yay for a Winter wedding! Definitely not what I have been dreaming of since I was little (I always wanted Fall or Spring), but the idea of it is actually really starting to grow on me. The temple we have chosen is the Jordan River Temple. His parents were married there and we both think it is beautiful.

We chose our rings together. Mine is yellow gold with a natural ruby (his birthstone) and two diamonds. His is a band of solid 14k gold.

Not very trendy at all, and the ruby is nontraditional. The design of the ring is classic though and it is beautiful. :) I think it fits my personality very well. Isn't it pretty?!

PUMPKINS!

As I was sitting on my bed today after church, fasting while reading and warming up after freezing in church, I decided that I needed to go outside. Because I was sleepy and dull from lack of food, and I knew if I fell asleep I would stay asleep too long and regret it later. Also the point of fasting is to focus on feeding your spirit instead of your body, and usually going outside does me good when I am looking to do that.

Because it was so freezing I put my pajamas on under my long "gypsy" skirt and then pulled on my brown boots over some long socks. I wear those boots when I am really cold, because they are fuzzy inside and warm me right up. I also put on a sweater and scarf. Then I took the book that I got in Relief Society today and went out to read. The book is "Daughters in My Kingdom." You can tell it was put together by some lovely women, because it's visually a beautiful book, which entices me to read it.

When I went outside it was too cold for me to sit and read, so I decided that first I would walk around and get my blood flowing faster. I noticed the rotten squash plants from that darn early frost, so I went and picked the little squash and pumpkins. I moved them to our yard swing, and they looked so pretty that I took a picture with my phone. That wasn't good enough so I ran inside to get my camera.

Anyways, to get to the point of this story, I present my pumpkin photo shoot!

For those of you who don't know, I fanatically and passionately love pumpkins! Ok that may be exaggerating, but only a little. I feel pretty much the same about Autumn. I just wish the bitter, frosty Winter cold would hold off long enough for there to actually be a good Fall.

So after my picture taking and running around in my yard for a while I felt warm and refreshed.

Picnic at the park.

Today my family went to our stake picnic. I was going to try and talk Jordon into coming so I wouldn't be bored but he was too busy helping out the missionaries. Dang it! I know it's kind of bad to just expect to be bored, but I didn't think that many people I know would really be there and I was pretty much going for the food. Haha. More people came than I expected. And of course I had my camera to entertain me. Plus my Kindle. But I barely used it. I just can't focus on reading when I am in a place with so much going on . . . At least I couldn't today.

Pretty Park

I asked Jack and Spencer if I could take their picture. Spencer was a good sport, but Jack said "no!" as he threw himself to the ground.

I had fun with some of my favorite little twins! This guy is so happy all the time. Here he is peeking through a plastic chair.

I wore earrings made from recycled skateboard.

And a vintage gumball machine ring. It's a bird in case you can't tell..

Like the picture of my own eye that I think is so cool, but this is Chey's eye. We pretty much have the same eye color. And we both get our long eyelashes from mom.

I don't know if she would appreciate this pic being public, but I like it.

Contrast.

 Other twin. Terry & Cheyenne.

Mother and I.

The l o n g food line. I waited for it to get smaller.

Well I almost got him to smile.

Pretty Kami and I.
I took more pictures, but I think posting too many makes each one less special in a way. And I always get too carried away as it is! Maybe I will give some to Chey for her blog.
